How Long Do Dermal Fillers Last?

What Is the Aftercare for Filler Injections?
Please follow these guidelines after your treatment:
- Avoid touching, rubbing or massaging the treated areas for 24 hours
- Do not apply any makeup or skincare products for 24 hours
- Sleep on your back with your head elevated for the first night to reduce swelling
- Apply ice packs to the treated area during the first 12 hours (15 minutes at a time, three times a day) to minimize swelling and bruising
- Avoid exercise for 24 hours after treatment
- Refrain from consuming alcohol for 24 hours post-treatment

How should I prepare for a filler appointment?
To minimize the risk of bruising, discontinue blood-thinning medications and supplements (if approved by your primary care provider) for 10 days prior to treatment. These include aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, fish oil, vitamin E and herbal supplements like St. John’s Wort.
Avoid alcohol for 48 hours before and 24 hours after your appointment, as it can increase the risk of bruising. Consider taking Arnica Montana supplements starting five days before treatment to help prevent bruising.
