Liquid Facelifts

liquid facelifts

Are you frustrated with the effects of the natural aging process? Does it feel like your only option to tackle signs of aging is a surgical procedure, but that does not feel like the best fit for you and your lifestyle? Liquid facelifts may be for you! This non-surgical treatment option combines the power of different injectables and treatments to provide a range of anti-aging benefits. Explore the possibilities during a consultation with us at Bella Tu Med Spa at one of our New York offices in Goshen or Nyack.

What Are Liquid Facelifts?

Liquid facelifts are customizable, non-surgical and minimally invasive treatment options that offer a comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation. These personalized treatments offer a way to:

  • Enhance natural facial contours and features
  • Minimize the appearance of signs of aging
  • Provide targeted increases in volume

The ultimate goal of treatment is to achieve an overall more youthful appearance. This process may be used to address fine lines, wrinkles, volume loss, and more.

How a Liquid Facelift Differs From a Surgical Facelift

A surgical facelift lifts and tightens sagging skin by removing excess tissue and repositioning the underlying structures that have descended because of age. A liquid facelift takes a different approach by using injections to create the appearance of lift and youthful volume without incisions or general anesthesia. With this option, our patients can avoid the weeks of recovery that follow surgery and return to work the same day in most cases.

The two options also differ in longevity and flexibility. Surgical results can last a decade or longer, while a liquid facelift typically lasts several months to a couple of years depending on the products used. A non-surgical approach can be refreshed, adjusted or built on over time as their face and preferences change.

Injectables Commonly Used in a Liquid Facelift

Neuromodulators

Neuromodulators such as Botox® relax the muscles that make the skin wrinkle and fold. The most commonly treated wrinkles include the lines that appear when you smile, frown or raise your brows. Softening muscle activity in the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes helps smooth existing creases and slows the formation of new ones.

Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that naturally occurs in the skin and holds water. Hyaluronic acid fillers replace volume loss and smooth facial folds. The JUVÉDERM® family includes options for different depths and purposes, such as VOLUMA® for the cheeks, VOLBELLA® for the lips and fine perioral lines and VOLLURE® for nasolabial folds. The Restylane® family offers the same kind of versatility with a slightly different formula using products like Restylane Lyft, Kysse and Defyne.

Bella Tu Med Spa is one of the few practices in the area trained to offer JUVÉDERM VOLUX®, a filler for the jawline and chin. VOLUX is firmer than most hyaluronic acid fillers, which lets it sculpt sharper definition along the lower face to give it a nonsurgical lift.

Complementary Injectable Treatments

A full liquid facelift may include treatments that work alongside traditional fillers and neuromodulators. Kybella® dissolves small pockets of fat beneath the chin to refine the jawline. AquaGold® is a micro-dose blend of BOTOX, filler and vitamins used across the surface of the skin to improve tone, pore size and overall glow.

Another option is Skinvive™, which adds hydration beneath the surface of the skin for a smoother, more luminous finish without changing facial volume. The products that will be used for your facelift will vary depending on the areas of your face that you would like to enhance or adjust.

Areas That Can Be Treated During a Liquid Facelift

Treatment areas include:

  • Forehead and brow
  • Cheeks and midface
  • Under-eye area
  • Nose
  • Lips and perioral area
  • Jawline and chin
  • Temples

The Benefits of Choosing a Liquid Facelift

Liquid facelifts provide fast results with minimal effort and recovery. This treatment can be worked into a busy day, and patients can return to work or social plans afterward. Each treatment is also flexible. Your provider can treat one area at a time or several at once, responding to your feedback and customizing it to your preferences. A liquid facelift can also be a comfortable starting point for those who are new to aesthetic treatments.

What Could I Expect from the Treatment Process?

All liquid facelifts will be unique! However, the treatment process is relatively similar. Each non-surgical procedure is performed in the comfort of one of our New York offices. Although the specifics of each treatment will vary, injectable treatments are carefully and strategically administered into specific areas of concern.

There is minimal pain or discomfort associated with the process, but experiencing some pinching at the injection sites may occur. There is no set downtime associated with the process, but you may notice some minor bruising or swelling in the treatment areas. Treatment sessions are often short, and you should be able to resume your normal daily activities!

Just as each of our liquid facelifts is different, the results will vary for each person and the concerns addressed. However, most begin to enjoy results shortly after treatment. Regular treatment sessions may help promote and maintain the best results.

How Long Do Liquid Facelift Results Typically Last?

Longevity depends on the products used, the areas treated and how quickly your body metabolizes the injectables. Botox and other neuromodulators generally last three to four months. Most hyaluronic acid fillers last anywhere from six months to a year, while thicker volumizing fillers like VOLUMA and VOLUX can last up to two years in areas with less movement.

Sun exposure, smoking, stress and a faster metabolism can shorten the lifespan of your results. Patients who follow a consistent skincare routine (including sunscreen) and return for touch-ups are the most likely to enjoy long-term results and keep their refreshed look between sessions.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Most generally healthy adults frustrated with their current appearance may be able to benefit from liquid facelifts. While this may be a suitable option for those who are uninterested in a surgical procedure, it is important to approach treatment with realistic goals and expectations. Treatment may achieve more subtle results.

A consultation with our professionals at any of our New York offices can help ensure this aesthetic treatment is the best fit for you and your goals. They will help you customize your unique treatment plan to help you best achieve your aesthetic goals. They can also help you develop your personalized treatment plan.

How to Prepare for Your Liquid Facelift Appointment

Preparation is focused on keeping your skin in good condition and doing what you can to prevent bruising after your injections. If you get approval from your provider, you can stop taking blood thinners for ten days before your treatment to minimize the risk of bruising. Stop drinking alcohol for 48 hours prior to the appointment since it also thins the blood. Let your injector know about any recent illnesses or dental work, and of any changes to your skin health.

Aftercare and Recovery Tips

After your treatment, do your best to avoid touching or rubbing the treated areas for the rest of the day, and skip heavy workouts. It may help to sleep on your back with your head slightly elevated for a night or two to limit swelling from the dermal fillers.

Make sure to schedule any additional treatments like facials or chemical peels several weeks after your liquid facelift to allow the products to settle. For most treatments, using a gentle, cool compress on the skin can help with swelling, but be sure to follow any specific instructions your injector has given you for aftercare.

Combining a Liquid Facelift With Other Treatments

Injectables address volume and muscle movement, but they do not change the quality or texture of your skin. Pairing a liquid facelift with skin-focused treatments can give you a more complete reset and leave you feeling refreshed. Some options include a Hydrafacial®, microneedling with PRP, chemical peels and laser rejuvenation to improve tone and texture. Your provider will carefully sequence these treatments so that they support each other without compromising results.

Before & After

FAQs About Liquid Facelifts

Will my results look natural?

We aim for a natural-looking lift with strategic placement of small amounts of product. By treating more than one area of the face, we can also create a more balanced look than could be achieved by treating one area.

How much does a liquid facelift cost?

Pricing varies based on the products used and the number of areas treated. Your consultation includes a detailed quote based on your plan.

How soon will I see my results?

Filler results are often visible right after your appointment, with final outcomes settling in once any swelling resolves over one to two weeks. Neuromodulators like Botox take effect gradually and reach their full result in about two weeks.

How often can I get a liquid facelift?

Most patients return for touch-ups every three to four months for Botox and every six months to two years for fillers, depending on the product. Your provider will help you plan a schedule that maintains your results.
